In vitro Observation of the Growth of Gram Positive and Gram Neghative Bacteria in the Joint Fluid

Abstract
Infections disease is defined traditionslIy as the result of microbial activities and the rate of growth and maltiplication of invading organism in a given tisslre may be said to be the most important factor in the early stage of many infectious diseasts among many factors is host~arasite relationship which may infInenee and modify the coarse of infectious prcacex~
The snthor coasideted it Wright be woctlzwhile to obxrve the fate of microorgaisms in the joint fluid. The bacterial suspensious of Gram positive bacteria such as Staph. sureus, Staph albus. B. setbtfSs sad Grant stegativa bacteria ands as Es colt. p¢¥s. aerugiaasa wort iaocn~ted info the joint fluid from 14 ~. oi~¢¥several arthritis a! tIIe knee joint sad observes the¢¥vbtE-2e nnits of tDE YiacterisL-species attet L3.5 sad 7¢¥hours of incubation $t 3?¢¥G Hader aerobic coaditibn: Resuhs of the obxrvations were:¢¥suaemarized aw tollaws:
1) The viable anits of staph. aureus. began to incerease significantly between 1 and 3 hours of facnbation and t3ua showed marked ia~tse liter¢¥? hours of incubation.
2) The viable Baits of Stsph. albus began to increase acoderatelg behveetx 3 stsd 5 hours of incubation, but there was slight increase or almost no increase thereafter in all cases.
3) The viable uaita of B. snbtilis showed abrupC decreax and conld not be demonxtrated at all after 1 hour of iacabatioa a:expt one which alsoshowed marked decrease:
4) The viable units Es. cola showed no remarkable change or alight decreease upto 7 hours of incabation.
5) The viable naib of Ps. aeruginosa began to decreax significantly within 1 hoar of incubation and thereafter could not be demonstrated at all except one. which showed rather slight increase.
